Honestly, I thought that this summit will be for ‘Geeks’ where they will have an opportunity to become ‘extra geek’. To my surprise, this summit turned out to be one of the best as it offered interesting topics like cloud computing, and SOA not only for geeks but also for the beginners like me.

Firstly, the summit was very well organized (especially the goodies) and on top of that it had speakers from across the globe who covered variety of topics. The Day 1 of the summit started with Howard Charney, a direct report to Cisco's CEO John Chambers, who delivered the opening keynote titled 'Smart Services, Bright Future'. In fact, John smartly pointed us towards the bright future.

I really enjoyed cloud computing seminars where I got better insight on the following:
- What is cloud computing?
- Why everyone is interested in cloud computing?
- Differences between Private, Public, Hybrid clouds
- What are the advantages? Although nobody mentioned anything about disadvantages
- Standards, security issues, and lot other

The best part was to have an opportunity to hear from big 5’s like Amazon, Yahoo, Microsoft, Wipro and also from Nils Puhlmann who presented his views on security related issues. Nils ability to advise directly to the U.S. President office was an amazing job.

Other speakers like Jinesh Varia from Amazon, Anand Ramakrishnan from Wipro, Dr. Marcus, Alan Palz Sharpe and others had done such a ‘funtastic’ job of presenting topics like cloud computing that it makes me feel that I know almost everything about the topic (ofcourse you still can’t call me a ‘geek’). Especially, workshop conducted by Jinesh, from Amazon (although last minute extra charges by organizers played a spoilsport) but it didn’t slow down the spirit of the participants.

I’m definitely expecting more such events by Salt March. It helps us in staying up-to-date with the latest and greatest in technologies. Like Som Sama from 3i-Infotech mentioned in his presentation that ‘Future is happening’ …..So let’s be a part of world of innovation and give something back to our society and mankind.

Thanks,
